Dr. Thaleia Filokyprou

Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Dr. Thaleia has been working in the dental field for a decade and counting. She says the best part of her job is having the opportunity to improve the quality of life of others while crafting personalized treatment plans that balance functional and aesthetic aspects of dental care. She is incredibly dedicated to designing beautiful, natural smiles that address each individual’s unique needs and expectations. Read on to learn more about her education and background!
Why Did You Want to
Become a Dentist?
Dr. Thaleia decided to become a dentist when she was in high school, as she was inspired by her orthodontist and the positive impact she had on her life. She was drawn to the idea of a career that blends hands-on work with healthcare, which would allow her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The combination of artistry, science, and the chance to help people is what makes her love the work she does.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Thaleia first completed her undergraduate dental training at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. Following her graduation, she pursued advanced specialty training in prosthodontics at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, where she completed her rigorous three-year residency program focusing on full mouth rehabilitations, cosmetic dentistry, and implant dentistry. She also earned a Master’s degree in Oral Biology. Later, she joined the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and started serving as an Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics, mentoring pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students.
Other than seeking continuing education to expand her knowledge and skills, Dr. Thaleia is also a proud member of several professional organizations, including the:

- American Academy of Prosthodontics
- International Team of Implantology
Outside the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Whenever she isn’t at the office treating smiles, Dr. Thaleia spends her time with her husband and their cat, as well as hanging out with family and friends. While most of her extended family lives in Greece, she still stays connected with them despite the distance. She also likes engaging in activities by the ocean, particularly windsurfing and sailing. One fun fact about her is that she’s worked in numerous cities and countries, which helped her appreciate cultural diversity and allowed her to adapt quickly to new environments.
