Patients come to Mind Your Mouth because they’re looking for a different approach to dentistry – one that addresses the health of the entire body and not just the mouth. Our team knows this, and they will do everything they can to help guide you through your dental journey with their extensive knowledge, experience, and gentle touch. To learn more about the wonderful staff that you’ll meet at your first appointment, read the biographies listed below.
Sam, Dental Assistant
Although her hometown is Portland, Sam attended Brown University and the University of Southern Maine for her studies. Since joining the dental field more than three years ago, she has enjoyed learning new things about her craft and those in her treatment chair. Away from the office, she enjoys pursuing her love for art by playing guitar, singing, skateboarding, and doing yoga (just a few of her many hobbies). Here’s an interesting fact about her: she used to be a radio DJ – she even interviewed Twenty One Pilots!
Tiffany, Dental Assistant
Originally from McKinney, TX, Tiffany has been in the dental field for nearly a decade, and she loves interacting with every patient while treating their smiles. The best part of her job is that she gets the chance to help people feel more comfortable during dental treatments so that they can have a more pleasant experience at the office. She attended Strayer University as well as Florida Tech, and she regularly seeks continuing education through Tufts University. She is trained in various areas of dentistry and has earned her certification in CPR, First Aid, OSHA, and Radiology.
Tiffany is a mother of two wonderful boys and loves spending as much time with them as possible. She also likes taking her two dogs on walks and hanging out with family and friends. Her hobbies include bowling, go-karting, mini golfing, reading, writing poetry, cycling, and watching her youngest son play soccer. One fun fact about her: she loves true crime shows and originally wanted to become a crime scene tech!
Audrey, Patient Care Coordinator
Originally from Millinocket, ME, Audrey studied dental hygiene at the University of New England in Maine. Although she is a relatively new addition to our practice, she already loves being able to help her community with their oral health needs in a comforting atmosphere with our other wonderful team members.
At home, Audrey lives with her Labrador mix named Gracie, as well as two cats named Teddy and Oliver. She likes to spend her free time hiking with her dog, painting, selling her paintings at local markets, traveling to beautiful destinations, relaxing on the beach, and getting out in nature whenever she can.
Karen, Patient Care Coordinator
Originally from Bethany, CT, Karen is one of our newest team members. She is an incredibly warm and welcoming individual who loves meeting new people and helping our patients get the dental care they deserve. She earned most of her experience on the job and loves working in the dental field. When she isn’t at the office, she is likely spending time with her family and her two cats named Jake and Pumpkin. Her hobbies include gardening, being outdoors, hiking, going to the beach, attending concerts, traveling, and watching the Portland Seadogs and Maine Mariners play.
Julie, Dental Hygienist
Julie has an impressive 28+ years of experience in the dental field! She considers Portland her hometown, and she completed her studies at the University of Maine in Bangor. She’s excited to be a part of our team, and her favorite part of her job so far is her coworkers and patients. As for life outside the office, she is married and has two children as well as a dog. Here’s something you might not know about her: she’s been a PMU artist for more than a year now.
Our Community Involvement
One of the unique aspects of our practice is that we not only serve people who live in the South Portland area—we live and raise our own families here too! This means we’re invested in making the community better for everyone. As a result, we are actively involved in organizations, events, and causes, as well as local businesses, that benefit the community, including the Ladies Adventure Club Maine and the Portland Farmer’s Market. If you know of a way we can contribute or participate in making this area a happier, healthier place to be, let us know!
